What should I consider if I want to go for a paid listing in an web directory?

I would defiantly suggest you to check the PR ranking of the directory before I go and pay for any listing, also it is important for you to know how well this web directory is ranked and indexed in for instant Google.

In general it is a good idea to get a paid listing but you will need to make sure that the web directory has the audience for your business or web site. For instant it makes no sense to pay for a listing in an Web Directory which is about DOGs or CATs if you web site is about web hosting.

Also very important : When you find some of the few really high indexed web directories which have a PR of about 5 or even higher, then look carefully if they don’t have the option to just put a reciprocal link on your web site to get listed. If so take this option.
